Case Studies
Pay back in 2 months
One customer bought four machines to wrap their leisure goods and got payback in 2 months, based on the reduction in materials used and the simplification of the packaging process. This bundled application eliminated the box or tray and reduced the wrapping material accordingly. This led to smaller cases. By reducing the overall weight, the customer achieved a reduction in shipping costs as well.
Cost savings from less packaging
This office supply customer was looking for a way to saving on mailing costs. By eliminating the outer box and wrapping the interior box in opaque film with a clear window, the customer was able to imprint the address on the box while concealing the rest of the box, protect the box and its address with the barrier film. This process reduced the weight of the package while preserving its integrity. This led to improved profitability when the lower mailing costs and reduced material costs were considered.
Unusual package design
This large personal care products company wanted high-speed production and very specific end sealing for its unusual packaging. Package was able to deliver customized tooling and tailored heaters to met their specific needs.
Food bundling
This partnership between two food companies required that some of the production be shifted to a different wrapping style. Package was able to set up a wrapping machine that fit in their product line on an as-needed basis and accommodated their need for bundling two items into one package directly into the wrapping process without a standard in-feed.
High-speed candy wrapping
This candy company needed to have a machine that would match the production speed of its cooking process and be able to accommodate different size packages while minimizing changeover time. Package designed a machine with quick change that would run up to 140 packages per minute.
Bundling 3-12 items as one product
This office supply product wanted to put 3-12 items in one wrap. Package designed a 7 axis servo machine so that they could change bundling sizes and wrap at speeds up to 130 packages per minute.
Varietal tea
The explosive growth in varietal teas has led to increased demand for preserving the freshness of the tea flavor. A customer with a growing specialty tea business wished to add capacity to its line. A new FA-ST gave it flexibility in box size as well as increased capacity.
Paper and glue
This candy company wanted to wrap their boxed candy in paper for its seasonal applications. Because of their needs for quick changeover of product sizes there was concern that a hot glue system could be problematic. Working with a glue system designer we were able to provide them with a cold glue system and still achieve the package appearance and line speed that were important to them.
Bundling four boxes, two products deep and across
This specialty food manufacturer wanted to wrap up to four boxes, two over two. Using its servo control technology, Package designed custom software to enable the FA-ST to bundle this unusual application. This enables this manufacturer to produce packages in the size configuration its customers demand.
Varying line speed
For a candy customer wrapping product in trays and with varying line speed from 60-140 packages per minute, Package Machinery equipped their machine with vision systems to note and respond to the rate of speed of the entering product. Then, with Therma-Trak®, Package enabled the heaters to respond to the change in line speed so that the temperature increased to handle the faster line speed and still provide the required sealing.
Personal care perfection
This customer wanted a perfect precision wrap for its ultra-high end product. They chose high quality film and needed a precision wrap to maintain the perceived value of its product. Package Machinery provided the high-value added appearance required for its advanced skin care products.
Options in appearance

Package gave it the ability to put its long seam in different sides of the product depending on which product was being wrapped. They have a simple and convenient solution to their dilemma in the Wrapster.
Brownies, glorious goodies
Sometimes things don’t come in boxes or trays and still need a wrap. This application required a wash down capability since food was touching the machine and a high speed. Tailoring the machine to the needs of the customer enabled them to get the speed they want, the high quality wrap that surrounds their delicate product and the ability to keep everything clean and safe.
New to contract packaging
This customer was just automating its line when it received an opportunity to expand its seasonal business with an important client. The client provided this opportunity because of the consistent quality of the wrap the Package Wrapster enabled this customer to provide.
Slippery little paper goods

Keeping costs down
Sometimes it is hard to get a good wrap with lightweight film. The FA-ST offers the chance to use lightweight film to wrap large volume consumer food items with a lower cost of operation than alternative wrap styles.
Pads galore
Wrapping pads of paper to keep the accurate sheet count and the product lean was important. Minimizing waste was also key for this marketer. Lightweight films added no bulk and allowed the company to eliminate a cardboard container, thereby saving it weight and cost.
Playing cards
For customer wrapping high-end playing cards we provide a machine that preserves and exhibits the high quality of their products. Cards can be tricky as they move while waiting to be wrapped. Controlling the stack is critical to a good outcome. Servo motion control on the FA-ST wins the day.
Stack of small cards
For small stacks of phone cards, we created a wrap that used underlapped fold to bundle the cards in stacks ranging from 10 to 25 cards. This enabled the customer to package in the quantities required for its different retail markets.
