Ingenious Wrapping projects from Pack Expo
October 6, 2009
The thrill of the trade show comes from the number of ingenious products that people bring you to wrap. While we cannot mention specific products, we can discuss some of the concepts and customers.
- The regulars that we see year after year who have yet to buy a machine but keep forgetting they have visited us before
- Existing customers who come by to tell us how wonderfully they are doing (our favorite)
- The guys with the most clever invention ever seen who need a very sophisticated wrap but have no money to buy a highly customized machine
- The me-too product that a self-employed person has invented and need a no-cost wrap solution that is one step beyond hand-wrapping
- the person who drops by to tell us they bought a machine from our competitors
- the former customer who had a 50 year old machine and blames us because it is not still running
- the person who drops by for a giveaway to load up their baggage and has no need for our wrapping machinery at all
- the supplier who insists that we need their product – while we are trying to speak to our prospective customers
- the prospect looking to double their existing machine speed with a product that will collapse under the G-force
- the exhibitors who are bored in their own booth and come to visit
- the sore footed traveler who needs a break
- the people who decide to stand in our booth while making a phone call or chatting with their co-workers
We love them all because they are here to learn their options and we are here to help them do that. Sooner or later they turn into sales, even the guys who bought our competitors’ machines or the exhibitor next door who makes a referral.
