in our second day at Walmart’s Sustainable Packaging Exposition we are learning a lot from the other exhibitors.  When one person noted that by reducing the film wrap on packages, we have removed the hole for hanging the package from, we demonstrated how the addition of a hanging tab solved the problem and still reduced the overall film consumption and created a smaller package with less corrugated box required for shipping, thereby reducing shipping cost.

Someone with a competitive process to overwrap came by to look at our samples. Their comment was that overwrap is the most sustainable and efficient  wrap on the market. Thank you, honorable competitor!!

We have seen some really interesting packages and some prototypes that may be excellent down the road.

Most of all, we have had some really great conversations with Walmart’s suppliers about how we can help them make their packaging both more attractive and more sustainable.
